MetroWest coffee roasters include George Howell Coffee, whose roastery has been in Acton since 2004. Framingham has three roasters on the Roast Local list, among them a Colombian importer's cafe and roastery in the old Saxonville Mills. Sudbury, Wellesley, Marlborough, Milford, Shirley and Ayer have their own. Bay State Coffee Club sends a bag from a different Massachusetts roaster each box.

Acton
George Howell Coffee roasts, cups and stores its green coffee at 312 School Street, and fills orders there. George Howell and his daughter Jenny travel to the farms the company buys from, and it pays well above Fair Trade prices on a sliding scale tied to quality. The company also financed the Extract MoJo refractometer and software that baristas use to measure extraction.

MetroWest's coffee story
Andina Distributors, a Colombian coffee importer founded in 2012, opened its cafe and roastery in the Saxonville Mills in Framingham in 2018.
In 2004 George Howell began roasting George Howell Coffee, and the roastery has been in Acton since then. The company has since marked his 50 years in coffee.
Framingham has three roasters of its own, the most of any town on this page, and Sudbury has two.
