Framingham's coffee story

Jay and Jim Hogan drew up their plan in 1994 and 1995, when small roasters were still new in New England. They started on a Probat L12 in a small cafe in the fall of 1995 and let customers help choose the beans and blends. After a stretch in Webster from 1997, the company moved into its Framingham plant in March 2001.

Sudbury Coffee Works opened the same year, 1995. Apart from its French roasts, it takes every coffee to a Full City roast, dark brown with no oil on the bean.

Andina's founder, Cristian, began by selling small bags online in 2012 and trading green beans in 2014. He bought a roaster, opened the Saxonville Mills store in 2018 and added a second cafe in 2023, named for his home region.

How we chose these roasters

Every roaster here roasts in Massachusetts and was operating when we read its own site, on the date its card shows (the list itself was last checked 2026-09-27). Facts come from each roaster's own pages, written in our words; we take nothing from reviews and show no ratings. No roaster pays to be listed, and a listing does not mean the roaster is part of the club. Run a roaster here and something is off? Email coffee@baystatecoffeeclub.com and we correct or remove the page.
