Is a coffee subscription worth it?
A coffee subscription is worth it if you brew coffee at home most weeks and want it fresh without a trip to the store. Here that means a bag roasted to order by a different Massachusetts roaster every 2 or 4 weeks, at $16.99 a bag, with the first bag free (you pay $7.99 shipping).
If you only drink coffee now and then, set it to every 4 weeks and skip the boxes you do not need, or skip the subscription. The reminder email 3 days before each box gives you time to do that.
How does a coffee subscription work?
You choose your roast, style, grind and how often once, and a fresh bag arrives on that schedule until you skip, pause or cancel. Ours sends a 12 oz bag from a different independent Massachusetts roaster in every box. The full walk-through is on how it works.

How much does it cost?
$16.99 a bag, any roast. The first bag is free and you pay $7.99 shipping on that first box.
Is the first bag really free?
Yes, the coffee is free and you pay $7.99 shipping for that first box, charged at checkout. There is one free bag per customer, matched by email and shipping address.
Do espresso, decaf or single origin cost extra?
No. Every style and every roast level is $16.99 a bag. See the espresso, decaf and single origin plans.
Can I choose the roast?
Yes. Pick light, medium, dark or mix it up, then a style: single origin, blend, espresso or decaf. Three quiz questions will pick for you if you are unsure.
Whole bean or ground?
Either one. Every bag is 12 oz and you choose whole bean or ground when you set your box.
We like different coffee. Can we share a box?
Yes. Choose two bags and give the second one its own roast and style, for example a dark blend and a light single origin.
Gifts
Can I send it as a gift?
Yes. A gift is 3, 6 or 12 boxes for $66.99, $134.99 or $269.99, shipping included, paid once. Each box holds one bag. Details are on the gifts page.
Does a gift renew?
No. A gift ends after its last box and nothing more is charged.
Can I pick the start date and add a note?
Yes to both. You pick the roast, the grind and the start date, and a gift note is optional.
Can I send it to someone who moved away from Massachusetts?
Yes, to any address in the US. It is coffee from home, roasted in the state they left.
Delivery and freshness
How fresh is the coffee?
Roasted and shipped within 3 days. The roaster roasts your bag to order and mails it straight from the roastery.
Who ships the box?
The roaster does, in their own bag and packaging, with our packing slip inside: the roaster, their shop, their story and tasting notes.
How often does a box come?
Every 2 or 4 weeks, your choice.
Do you ship outside Massachusetts?
Yes, anywhere in the US.

Which roasters do you list?
Independent roasters that roast in Massachusetts and were operating when we checked, from Barrington in Lee to Three Fins in West Dennis. Every one is on the roasters list. A listing does not mean the roaster is part of the club.
How many roasters are there in Massachusetts?
The Roast Local directory lists 102 independent roasters in Massachusetts (pulled September 2026).
Will I get the same roaster twice?
Not in your first year. Each box comes from a roaster you have not had from us before.
How do you choose roasters?
A roaster has to be independent, roast in Massachusetts, and be operating when we check. Our sourcing page explains the rest, including how a roaster asks for a correction.
Your account
Can I skip, pause or cancel?
Yes, online, anytime before the next box is roasted. Every email we send has links to skip a box, pause, change your card or cancel.
What if I do not like a bag?
Free replacement if a bag disappoints. Tell us, and a different coffee goes out at no charge.
How do ratings work?
You rate each bag, and we pick from the next roaster with that in mind. Your ratings steer the next bag.
How do I reach a person?
