A blend is built to taste the same every cup. A single origin is the opposite: it tastes like where it grew and how it was processed, and it changes with the harvest. Every roaster on our list sells single origins. These are the ones whose own pages put the most weight on them, as checked on 2026-09-27. We list them as local favorites. This does not mean any of them fills a club box.
- George Howell, Acton, focuses on single estate coffees and buys under a direct trade policy. Its list has run from Gesha Village lots in Ethiopia to El Injerto Red Pacamara from Guatemala and Yemen microlots, with several coffees offered in both a light and a medium roast.
- Broadsheet, Cambridge, buys single farmer microlots alongside its blend coffees and roasts from very light Nordic style to medium-dark. Recent lots include Colombia Wilder Lazo Pink Bourbon and an anaerobic natural from Uganda.
- Barrington, Lee, roasts to bring out each coffee's own character rather than roast flavor, and names its growers on its site. It lists rare and Gesha lots and a Kalle Natural and Kalle Honey from India.
- Aero, Northborough, lets each coffee decide its roast. Its rotating list has included a washed coffee from women producers in Rwanda and a natural from Burundi.
- Snowy Owl, Sandwich, runs its own single-origin subscription, the Hoot Club, and roasts coffees such as Kenya Karinga AA and a natural from Rwanda's Huye Mountain.
- Armeno, Northborough, keeps about 50 coffees on hand, with single origins from Yemen Mocha Sanani to Jamaica Blue Mountain and 100% Kona Extra Fancy.
- Acoustic Java, Worcester, carries microlot and estate coffees bought directly from farming families, and a barrel aged Sumatra.
