Andina Cafes is one of the beloved local roasters we follow in Massachusetts: an independent roaster based in Framingham, founded in 2012. Here is what their own pages and public sources say about them, in our words.
Their story
Cristian, a Colombian entrepreneur, started selling small bags of coffee online in 2012 and set up Andina Distributors in 2014 to trade green beans. After buying his first roaster he opened the Saxonville Mills store in 2018 and a second cafe, named for his home region, in 2023. The company grows coffee on its own land in Risaralda, Colombia, exports it, and roasts it in Massachusetts.
Through Andina Distributors the company builds private label coffee brands for other businesses, handling registration, bar codes, package design and valved bags, and it also sells brewers and other equipment. It says more than 100 coffee growing families stand behind the brand and that it pays growers an extra amount on top of the coffee price. The company says it has catered events large and small for more than five years, using a farmer-direct house blend from Colombian mountain farms.

Roast levels run Medium, Medium Dark and Dark. House blends include Selecta, Traditional and Special Selection. Single origins on the list when we checked: Bourbon Rosado, Caturro Honey and Geisha. At the Saxonville Mills store, visitors can watch the coffee being roasted and packed. Andina Cafe, a short walk from Framingham City Hall, serves Colombian snacks such as arepas de queso, cheese bread and empanadas.
