Coffee on the Cape
Cape Cod coffee roasters are few and spread out. Snowy Owl has sourced, roasted and served coffee on the Cape since 2015, and Three Fins roasts at its coffeehouse on Main Street in West Dennis. Sandwich, Brewster and Chatham
Snowy Owl Coffee Roasters roasts and bakes at its cafe on Route 6A in Sandwich, runs a coffee house in Brewster and keeps a seasonal espresso bar off Main Street in Chatham. Its blend names nod to the Cape: Brewster Blend, Captain Crosby Blend, Jaws Blend. Roast Local files it under Brewster, where the first cafe opened.
West Dennis and Chatham
Three Fins Coffee Roasters roasts at 581 Main Street in West Dennis, a coffeehouse and mercantile that bakes most of its pastry on site and buys the rest from local bakers and home chefs. It runs a second location on Crowell Road in Chatham and supplies Cape resorts, inns and bed and breakfasts.
Mashpee, Woods Hole and Eastham

Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket

The Cape's coffee story
Snowy Owl opened on Cape Cod in 2015. Its name honors Cesar Ainzuain, who died in 2013: his children had brought him a plush owl pillow in hospital, and afterward all four of them began seeing owls, from Southern Oregon to Peru to the winter beaches of Cape Cod.
The Chatham espresso bar followed in summer 2018 as a seasonal spot, open from mid-spring through Chatham's First Night celebration on New Year's Eve. In 2021 Snowy Owl opened its cafe on Route 6A in Sandwich, which became the base for all of its roasting and baking. The company calls Sandwich the Cape's oldest town.
Three Fins began when owners Ron Reddick and Catherine Bieri moved to Cape Cod after careers in wireless technology and looked for a way to live and work there. They saw that true coffee houses were rare on the Cape, and chose coffee. The company describes itself as woman and veteran owned, and it also makes craft chocolate.
