Cape Cod Coffee is one of the beloved local roasters we follow in Massachusetts: an independent roaster based in Mashpee, founded in 1970. Here is what their own pages and public sources say about them, in our words.
Their story
Coffee has been roasted under this name on Cape Cod since 1970, according to its locations page. Green coffee comes from 12 countries, and the company says it buys only Fair Trade and Rainforest Alliance certified beans. The Evergreen Circle site in Mashpee holds the roastery plus a restaurant serving wood-fired pizza and hosting live events.
Jan and Pam Aggerbeck bought the business in 2015. Jan had run software companies for more than 30 years and meant the purchase as a way to settle down on the Cape. At the time of the sale there were three year-round employees and one roasting site. The company now reports about 90 staff all year and close to 130 in the busy season.
What they roast
House blends include Scandinavian Blend, Mocca Java, Hawaiian and Half Caff. Single origins on the list when we checked: Kenya, Ethiopian, Costa Rica, Brazil, Colombia, Guatemala and Sumatra. Rainforest Decaf, JMC Decaf and flavored decafs, all made with the Swiss Water method. Offerings change with the seasons, so this is what their own pages listed on 2026-09-28.

Why buying from Cape Cod Coffee matters here
By day the Mashpee Commons cafe serves breakfast and brunch, and from Thursday to Saturday evenings the same room turns into 53 Chophouse, a steakhouse. Visitors can book a tour of the Mashpee roasting plant, where the restaurant also keeps 16 local beers on draft and hosts live music on Friday and Saturday nights. A June 2026 post on the company blog names Framingham and Braintree as confirmed sites for new cafes, its first push well beyond the Cape.
