Their story
The founder got into coffee while studying anthropology in Montreal and later took a part-time barista job. Time in Costa Rica near the end of those studies showed coffee as something shared with family and friends, an idea the founder brought home to the island where they grew up. The company says it buys through socially responsible ties with small farming communities that follow environmentally sustainable practices, with a focus on Costa Rica.
Besides Cottage City, the lineup includes an Island Blend, a coffee named Lucy Vincent, an espresso, an Off Season Decaf and single origins from Brazil, Guatemala and Costa Rica.
