Their story
Beanstock began in 1996 as a small coffee shop inside the Inn at Duck Creek on Main Street in Wellfleet. It has since grown into a roaster, online store and wholesaler that roasts to order in small batches, with an emphasis on organic and fair trade beans. Wholesale accounts can get batch brewers and grinders supplied, staff training, and an in-house repair crew the company says is on call around the clock.
Its 12 ounce and 5 pound bags are nitrogen flushed and heat sealed with a one-way valve, while 1 pound bags are simply rolled shut and best used within two weeks. Oomph! is its house cold brew, made stronger than most so drinkers can dilute it. The base coffee changes from time to time and was recently a Central and South American blend. Customers can have the labels on their bags personalized for gifts.
What they roast
House blends include Black Fish Creek Blend, Nauset Blend (organic), Deep Sea Blend (organic), Slack Tide Blend (organic) and Shucker's Blend 2026. Single origins on the list when we checked: Mexico Organic Angel Albino Corzo, Colombia Fair Trade Organic FUDAM La Union, Colombia Gesha Natural, Finca Las Brisas, Ethiopia Chelchele G1 Natural, Ethiopia Guji Ardi Natural, Peru Yanahuaya FTO and Sumatra Organic Mandheling.
