Redeye Coffee Roasters is one of the beloved local roasters we follow in Massachusetts: an independent roaster based in Hingham. Here is what their own pages and public sources say about them, in our words.
Their story
The owners started roasting at home as a hobby, and it grew into the roastery and cafe. The roaster dates his interest to a washed Ethiopian Yirgacheffe he tasted in 2006. Since then the roaster says he has worked through countless pallets of green coffee, visited six coffee growing regions and judged competitions where lots sold for $135 a pound.
Each origin gets its own roast temperature and time, and samples from farms are cupped for quality and consistency. The company calls itself the only artisan roastery and cafe in south suburban Boston.
