Their story
Chris and Melissa got hooked on specialty coffee while living in Seattle. Chris roasted at home for a few years before they opened in Ipswich in 2016. The company is named for their Siberian Husky, River. Its coffees stay in the light to medium range, picked to show each bean's own character.
Online orders are roasted Monday through Wednesday starting at 6am, then ship or are ready for cafe pickup the following day. Its Exclusive Subscription brings in lots too small for a regular offering and gives new producers and importers a chance to try processes with the roaster. Wholesale partners get equipment pricing through makers such as La Marzocco, Synesso and Mahlkonig, along with hands-on training and setup help.
What they roast
Roast levels run Light and Medium. House blends include Companion Blend. Single origins on the list when we checked: Sebastian Ramirez, Kayon, Ichuga AA, Mukuru and San Lorenzo. Decaf: Decaf Helvetia. Offerings change with the seasons, so this is what their own pages listed on 2026-09-28.
