Their story

A father and two sons started the business in 1969, bringing drip brewers and pre-measured coffee packs into workplaces. The company moved to Green Street in Worcester in 1983 and in 2015 installed a custom air roaster. After a six-month trip through the Middle East and Europe in 1973, son Dan opened a shop called Old World Coffees and Teas to show customers methods like Chemex and the moka pot.

Founder Sidney Goldman died in 1988. Pat Goldman, now president, joined in the 1990s, and Dan's sons Michael and Jay came aboard in the 2000s. Its fluid bed air roaster was custom built together with Dan Fitzsimmons of the Australian firm Chinook Coffee Roasting Systems, and the company is a Fair Trade certified roaster. In 2016 it started Airis Coffee, a side project that roasts microlots from unusual origins to order and ships them the same day.
