Del's Coffee Roasters is one of the beloved local roasters we follow in Massachusetts: an independent roaster based in Waltham. Here is what their own pages and public sources say about them, in our words.
Their story
Del began as a home roaster, took a roasting course, and first planned to roast in his family's old horse barn before zoning rules got in the way. When the pandemic halted the build-out in spring 2020, he roasted 8 oz batches at home and delivered them around the neighborhood by mountain bike. The finished Waltham space holds a small commercial roaster and room for tastings and small events.
Every Tuesday morning the roastery hosts a tasting of unusual coffees and brewing styles, and tasting-and-roasting classes run through Arlington and Concord-Carlisle community education.
What they roast
House blends include Rockin' Morning Blend, Disco House Blend, Fair Trade Falcon Blend, Porchfest Blend and Orchard Blend. Single origins on the list when we checked: Organic Sumatra Takengon, Organic Guatemala Huehuetenango, Organic Honduras COMSA Natural, Organic Ethiopia Sidama Ayla Bombe Natural, Organic Colombia Tolima Del Rio and Organic Uganda Sipi Falls. Espresso: Soul Funk Espresso Blend. Decaf: Organic Peru Swiss Water and Colombia Valle del Cauca Sugarcane. Offerings change with the seasons, so this is what their own pages listed on 2026-09-28.

Why buying from Del's Coffee Roasters matters here
Gift shops in Somerville and Arlington carry bags labeled Entering Somerville and Entering Arlington, and a Porchfest blend raises money for a local cause. In Waltham it is brewed at Cafe on the Common and Tempo on Moody Street, and in fall Shelburne Farm in Stow pours it next to its cider donuts. Del sells bags at the Acton-Boxborough and Somerville Union Square farmers markets through the summer and fall.
